BAT AND DHEK BHAL JOIN FORCES
Dhek Bhal delivers a range of activities for the South Asian community. There is a group for older women who are experiencing isolation, offering friendship, activities and advice. There is a group for women with young children, offering education and training, advice on community and health issues and English language classes. There is also young women's group (11-22) and a sitting service for the elderly and disabled people. There is also a carers group and holiday playschemes.
BAT and Dhek Bhal have recently joined forces as a result of BAT's successful bid to St Monica's Trust Lottery Fund. The theme was Drugs, Alcohol and the over 55s, and BAT's bid was to provide free training in Benzodiazepine awareness. Dhek Bhal have not only taken advantage of this offer, but are hoping that this will be only the beginning of a meaningful and lasting partnership between the two organisations.
